When you’re away from your home country for any period of time, it is important to cover yourself with travel insurance. Try to think of it this way: when you’re in your own country, you have house and contents insurance, medical insurance, vehicle insurance and often life insurance but once you cross the border into a foreign land, these insurances generally are unable to cover you.
